Kutio is made by Davidovski GmbH, a company registered in Switzerland.
The short version
Kutio does not collect any data. It has no analytics, no tracking, and no user accounts. It contains no networking code of its own at all: the only network access it ever makes is Apple’s own App Store purchase system checking whether you own Kutio Pro. Nothing about you or your files is sent to us, because the app has no means of doing so.
Your files
Kutio opens, browses, extracts and creates archives entirely on your Mac. Your files and their contents are never uploaded, copied off your device, or transmitted to us or to anyone else. We never see them, and no feature of the app is capable of showing them to us.
Kutio runs inside Apple’s App Sandbox and can only access files you explicitly open or select.
Purchases
Kutio Pro is sold through the Mac App Store. All payment processing is handled by Apple. We never receive or store your payment details, card numbers, or billing address. Apple provides us only with aggregate, anonymised sales reporting. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Bug reports
Kutio has a “Report a Bug” command that opens a pre-filled email in your own mail application. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it, and you can read and edit the message first.
The pre-filled message contains the app version and build, your macOS version, your Mac’s hardware model, and a description of the most recent error the app encountered.
That error description is deliberately limited to the type of error and the archive format involved. It never includes file names, folder names, file paths, or the names of anything inside an archive. This is enforced in the app’s source code and verified by an automated test, not left to convention.
If you email us, we hold that correspondence only for as long as it takes to help you, and we do not use it for anything else.
Cookies and this website
This website sets no cookies and runs no tracking or advertising scripts.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with anyone, because we do not collect any.
Your rights
Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, and under the GDPR where it applies to you, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. In practice the only personal data we could ever hold is an email you chose to send us. Write to the address below and we will act on it.
Children
Kutio is a general-purpose file utility and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version is published here with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
